Inside

Here’s Rok Predin’s latest short film project. The film initially suggests a child’s ‘lift the flap’ book but it quickly subverts this familiar visual narrative and confounds the viewer’s anticipations. As Rok says the visual journey “lets the viewer ponder the traditional relationship between internal and external space while being a very visually pleasing film ”. The use of a beautiful pared down palette reinforces the viewer’s engagement with the short creating a mesmerising and incredibly engaging film. The spooky soundtrack was created by Ivan Arnold who Rok previously collaborated with on the award winning ‘Winter Poem’. “Inside” was created using Cinema 4D and composited using After Effects. It was conceived, animated, composited and directed by Rok Predin.

Here’s the spectacular Secret 7 exhibition. We went to the private view last night and chugged back some berry cider. The exhibition is on at the Idea Generation Gallery, 11 Chance Street, E2 7JB in Shoreditch until the 22nd of April. Go along and snap up and exclusive record sleeve, all proceeds go to the teenage cancer trust.

The Prism

Ryan from Pomp&Clout has been super busy recently AND he’s also managed to move house, well done Ryan! He made this creepy and atmospheric little promo film for the release of Nicolas Jaar/ CSA’s forthcoming album “The Prism”.

Trujillo feat. 5053x- Daltonic Time

Here’s Lore&Jun’s latest music video. It’s minimal and dreamy, simply made using only a high-speed train, an iPhone4, some geometric figures, a daltonic musician and a song.

weareom “Waste”

Trunk’s directing collective WeAreOm have just completed a fabulous new film called ‘Waste’. ‘Waste’ came about after WeAreOm had worked on a commercial that incorporated pop-ups, As Director Anton Groves noted “We realised that no one had thought of integrating pop-ups into a real life context, so we had this idea of a film about a wasteful character who has these monsters scattered about his mundane life, consuming all his waste”. Set and filmed in Bucharest the short stars Mihai Stanescu as the wasteful slacker and award-wining actress Ana Ularu as the female lead. But the real stars of the show are the monsters that include Syd who lives in a filing cabinet and Creech the toilet monster that no one should have to deal with after a heavy night. Damian Groves from WeAreOm and Andy Sinboy created the brilliant pop-up monsters and the film was funded by WeAreOm’s production company studioset.tv. The film is to be released on-line at the beginning of May but here is a linksyd-1 to a trailer of the film

Singing Dogs

I found this lurking in the depths of my computer. It’s a little project I made for a friend’s wedding.

Taster

Here’s an edited montage of a lovely job Layla’s just finished directing. We were thrilled to be working with the art director/illustrator Luke Best from the fabulous Peepshow Collective. All we can show you is a montage as this product is not officially launched until september. When you see the final piece with voiceover etc. all will become clear!

Rusko in Slovenia

Well looky here, it’s Rusko from Pomp&Clout’s video for his song “Woo Boost”. We saw it on tv in our hotel in Ljubljana. It’s surreal to see something you’re so familiar with in a new context. Oh yeah and check out that wallpaper.

Pick Me Up

We’re really excited about this year’s Pick Me Up at Somerset House. It’s a contemporary Art Fair and our friends Peepshow are doing a residency there. As well as exhibiting delicious, nutricious eye treats and mind food Peepshow will be doing a talk, a printing workshop, a collage workshop with Graham Rawle and something called Heavy Pencil with our other old mucker Pete Fowler. Pick Me Up runs until the first of April.feet
